HONGKONG, 17th December, 1907.
S--I am directed to forward a schedule of vacations of the Supreme Court which has been suggested in place of the schedule contained in Section 4 of Ordinance No. 5 of 1898, and to enquire whether in the opinion of your Chamber the proposed lengthening of the vacations will be detrimental to the commercial interests of the Colony.-I am, &c.,

SCHEDULE.
(a) The Long Vacation shall commence on the 25th day of
August and terminate on the 24th day of October. (b) The Christmas Vacation shall commence on the 24th day of December and terminate on the 5th day of January. (e) The Easter Vacation shall commence on the Thursday before Good Friday and terminate on the Monday week following.
(7.) The Chinese Now Your Vacation shall remain as pro- vided by the said section that is to say, it shall cons- mence on the first day of the Chinese New Year and terminate on fifth day of such New Year.
